IBM Sales Engineer

As a Pre-Sales Consultant, you'll work with clients to understand their business challenges and design solution approaches to improve their performance by leveraging Business Intelligence and Analytics. This role is a dynamic, high-energy job best suited for multi-tasking technologists who thirst for the opportunity to diagnose problems and envision solutions. The position will assist our sales executives and account managers with demand creation, opportunity maturation, and sales progression by quantifying and demonstrating the value proposition of our solutions. The ideal candidate has experience in pre-sales, technical design and successful solution delivery of data management and business intelligence projects. 

Job Responsibilities 

  • Demonstrate the capabilities of business intelligence software with an enthusiastic style in either an intimate client setting or in front of a large audience
  • Conduct technical and functional discovery sessions with clients to get a better understanding of their business challenges
  • Lead the scoping and solution design efforts that will define CCG's proposed services for our clients
  • Participate in estimation sessions with our service delivery team to ensure that the proposed work effort is in line with our scope and solution design commitments
  • Contribute to, and sometimes lead, the creation of proposals that present our services in a compelling way
  • Participate in, and sometimes lead, the in-person presentations of our proposed solutions and services
  • Evangelize CCG's solution portfolio and contribute input to our solution teams on how we can improve the relevancy of our offerings 
  • Collaborate with our Alliance channel teams on how to best position their software and solutions

Minimum Qualifications

  • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience
  • 2 years of successful sales support experience within the consulting services industry
  • 2 years of solution consulting experience delivering business intelligence and data management projects
  • Desire and ability to effectively present to large audiences
  • Desire and ability to adjust communication style from C-level business solution discussions thru detailed architectural discussions with development teams
  • Desire and ability to effective multi-task between a portfolio of client pursuits without missing deadlines
  • Desire and ability to establish trust with client stakeholders
  • Desire and ability to research client business drivers and identify opportunities 
  • Desire and ability to quickly learn new solutions, products and techniques
  • Lead and/or contribute to RFP/RFQ responses
  • Willing to travel an average of 50%
